Reflection Questions: Pair Share (20 mins.)
  1. Does your library have a collection management plan (tangible, written, shareable)? Does it address a shift from print to digital? If so, how?
  2. Do you have an updated collection analysis? What does it tell you about your digital collection and its ability/inability to meet the needs of your users?
  3. Have you collaborated with faculty to determine which parts of the collection/classroom instruction/projects lend themselves to a digital transition? If so, how do you collaborate? If not, how can you include them in your planning?
  4. Have you conducted a needs assessment including surveying students’ home access needs and personal preferences when planning for eBooks/digital content? If so, how did you gather student data? If not, how could you get student input?
  5. Have you considered how eBooks and specific devices benefit or hinder special needs students? If so, what have you concluded?
  6. Are you knowledgeable about eBook vendors and services they provide?
  7. Is your digital collection equitably accessible to all students? If so, explain. If not, how could it be more equitable?
  8. Will your plan to circulate digital content reduce economic disparity in your school? If so, explain. If not, why not?
